Well you picked the right brand....But you may find you won't even need a CCast connected to it in a couple of months! LOL

It is probably showing at CES and that usually means public release sometime in spring.

Whats good is that Samsung is pretty good about using the same SMART system for all models so apps for new TVs are very likely to work on older SmartTVs

Also don't forget to look on the Play Store because I'm sure Samsung has an app to control the TV better than any IR remote can!

Nah the ccast is plugged into a Samsung 42" LCD, bought in 07, the perfect TV for that device since it will never be smart. I didn't know that about the apps on the new TVs though.

My Sony smart BluRay player also works like Chromecast with YouTube and maybe other apps. I just discovered this function the other day after installing the chromecast apps on my phone and tablet. I'm a bit behind on home tech gadgets.
