Trouble with rooting etc.
Hi guys, I finally decided to try to root my S4 and boy am I having a hell of a time trying to get something that works.
I'll start of by listing all the info of my phone because I am also confused on that subject and what exactly I'm working with.
Model number: SAMSUNG-SGH-I337
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: I337UCUEMK2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-1921628
Build number: JSS15J.I337UCUEMK2
and yes, I have Kies installed, I've installed the drivers on my computer, my phone has USB Debugging checked, Kies recognizes my phone but what's interesting about that is when I open Kies 3 (which is what I have to use for Kies to properly work) it says under Firmware information; "Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies."
now I'll list what I've attempted.
CASUAL, found here;
I click the Do it button and one of two things happen, it gets to [*] Device found.[*] Pushing exploit...
and then stops completely..nothing happens.
or it gets here
[*] Device found.[*] Pushing exploit...
1821 KB/s (1283460 bytes in 0.688s)[*] Pushing root tools...
1021 KB/s (96260 bytes in 0.092s)
and then stops completely again.
next up, motochopper, found here;
basically the same thing, it gets to
[*]Pushing root tools...
and just stops there..nothing else happens.
Saferoot, found here;
this as well stops at
[*]Sending files to your device...
alrighty! thank you for that..I guess I'll look for another one..
so next we have One Click rooter and debloater, found here;
while it makes it past
[*] Pushing exploit
3387 KB/s (1283460 bytes in 0.370s)
it yet again stops completely at
[*] Pushing Root
cool. sounds good.
so no I'm downloading the other One Click rooting tool, the 3 way lokifyed one;
I suppose I'll let you guys know when that one doesn't work also.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
also to add, when I try to drag something onto my phone from my computer, surprise! the copying window just stops about 10% in and goes no further, until finally an error window comes up saying; The device has either stopped working or has been disconnected. I imagine this will be a problem because aren't I supposed to put the rom zip on my phone this way? hoo buddy!
