Smile [Q] How do Apps send update notice without my phone having WiFi or Data?

recently, i have noticed that my apps, mostly games, are sending me updates like what is new, play today and win this amount of coins, etc..

my question: how can apps send me updates without my phone having connected to Wifi and Data Plan?

im only paying $20 for voice only plan. and the service provider dont even charge me anything.

so how can these app send me updates?

Your screenshots are way too tiny to read.

I've never looked it up but I'd guess they're just built into the app's programming. I mean, your WIFI hasn't been off THAT long - you could easily received communication from the apps over wifi yesterday or 5 days ago that included information about sales and other stuff for the next month and programming to display these at certain times.

oh, so it means that they have included a timer like instance to send updates to devices.
