HI Guys,

I have just had a search and can't find anything on replacing the mSATA SSD in the Surface RT 1st Gen.

Has anyone thought about doing this? or have any knowledge on how to do it? or if it would work?

I don't want to change the OS just add additional storage like a 256 SSD, I have the 64gb version with a 64gb Micro SD and 64gb thumb drive in the side yet copying from one to the other takes time. if I was able to have 256gb of inbuilt storage that would be great.

Thoughts?

The Surface RT doesn't have an mSATA drive. It uses eMMC instead, and the chip is soldered onto the motherboard. It's the Surface Pro that uses mSATA. Sorry!
