Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

Oh yes, once Android 5.0 is out we may see performance increases using ART as Google will have spent enough time tweaking the performance and fixing bugs. We may even see chipset vendors optimizing it further like Qualcomm and Intel have done with Dalvik.
