S4 has no recovery mode

So i traded my Iphone 5s for a s4 well the guy failed to tell me it was rooted and I went to update and now i have no sound no nothing wifi let alone no recovery mode I really need some light shed on this because I am about to throw the phone through the wall.. Any one have any ideas on what to do?

Depending on the firmware version, you have multiple options.
If you are on MDK, you will need to re-flash with a no wipe of MDK.
If you are on ME7, MI1, MJ7 or MK2 you will need to re-flash with a no wipe of MK2.
MK2 is the latest firmware and there is a root exploit. It also is the most stable.
You can get Wifi tethering and Google wallet to work with no issues.

I got it finally thanks for the info I'm just extremely happy to have my s4 back
