Are there any other WiFi devices nearby?

I will try it, but... i Live in a house, there are not any other house near it.

It doesn't have to be another router in your neighborhood. Devices like wireless headphones, game controllers, NAS, and other portable devices could also be the reason. If they are all in close proximity and operating at the same frequency and/or channel, it could impact the device performance or even render it completely useless.

Hi guys,
I see you are experimenting with batteries too ))
Here you can see pictures of Fly's and W8's batteries set into V3 - http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=528112&st=1000 (post 1013 and 1018)
Waiting for test results tomorrow.

Should say that I'm not a big fan of using not original battery. Beside the capacity there are a few other parameters in batteries specs.

Yes, it's a common issue. The phone will charge extremely slowly from 80%-88% (1+ hour), then 'jump' to 100%, then discharge quickly down to 80%. I use an external charger regardless. I recommend it to anyone with or without the issue. They are like $3 and charge the battery overnight to 100%.

I use this 'clamp' style. Not sure if the other enclosed universal chargers are big enough. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...r&rh=n:2335752011,k:universal+battery+charger

On another note:

I've made an 'ultimate' version of 1.0.3

ROM Includes
- Rooted
- 3.5GB internal storage / 10.5GB phone storage
- (NEW) Newest FULL Touch Recovery CWM 6.0.4.4. This recovery is safe to factory
reset with. It won't format /system unless you select option 1.
- (NEW) Boot sound bye-bye
- (NEW) 2 Chinaware removed - smsreg and sharedstoragebackup
- (NEW) Root Explorer app included as part of /system

Otherwise the ROM is completely stock. No add-on junk.

Extras
- Standard CWM 5.5
- Stock recovery
- EBR for 6.0GB internal storage / 8GB phone storage
- (NEW) Stock EBR
- (NEW) Full scatter (for flashing USRDATA and CACHE if needed)
- (NEW) Full expiremental scatter (if any errors when trying to flash, please try to use this scatter instead)

As a last solution I would try factory reset it, and update the firmware (if you already don't have the newest). If that doesn't fix it, then I really don't know, but I have a hunch that the WiFi is defective. By how much does it deviates from other people's smartphones? How do you measure the signal strength? Only by counting signal bars, or with some app (how many dB does it show)? If the difference is substantial and really concerns you, maybe you should consider sending it back to the seller for warranty.

Will this rom work if I have already changed the internal storage to 6GB?

Thanks. So that eleviates the problem once and for all, or is that just a temporary fix? If it's not permanent, I find it very inconvinient, since I don't plan to do this "take out and put back in" stuff whenever I charge the battery (5-6 times per week).

PS. When can we expect new custom roms? :)

I'm confused. Are you trying to say you did it once on your Note3, or did it once on your V3 (which you still didn't have 2 days ago)? It's hard to get the meaning without punctuations in your answer (I guess you're on mobile, but anyway...) So, if you fixed it permanently on V3, that super duper news, but fixing it on another phone doesn't really mean much, since every manufacturer is different.

I think using an external charger is quite cumbersome, having to pull the battery every night mobile. imagine you can find another solution :)

Components/Apps not present

Hi there,

I'm using ROM version 1.0.3 and have noticed that Google Services Framework is missing (Google Play realised this and prompts you to download it) and Gmail is also not present.

I've installed these via Google Play however these have always been part of the ROM on other Android devices I've owned.

I've extracted the apk files for both and have uploaded them here...

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/88orcmxvva0v9/iNew V3

Perhaps we can include them in future ROM's?

There could be other things missing but I've only been using the phone for about 24hrs.

This is a copy-paste from NeedRom (poor translation from Chineese).

1, the combined data and phone storage partitions
2, the demand in the browser address is www.google.com, unrealized
3, NFC file transfer dysfunction, sometimes and sometimes can not be transmitted
4, continuous shooting around 20 photos flash does not shine
5, wifi directly connected device name defaults to Android_dobb. V3-E should
6, mobile phone leather case on hold, turn on automatic screen rotation function,
in the state closed down the screen and then open the leather holster will automatically restart

For me, it's good because 1) and 3). The rest is not so clear to me. But certainly there are other small bugs fixed...

what does 6 mean hmmmm
might be the issue I am having.

When ever I close my flip cover when im in music player or any app open it will restart my phone!
Also I dont think my NFC works, only tried it with one other device-headphones.

I better getting reading over this thread again so to find a rooting for dummies guide!

Remember, this is a Chineese phone, and they don't like Google :)
Most of the phones I had before didn't come with Gapps, but they can be downloaded from this thread (just follow the linksr).

Yeah sorry, that's Chineese gibberish, I just copy-pasted it from NeedRom. It was translated using Google Translate by someone else, so you will have to shoot him instead :)

Also I dont think my NFC works, only tried it with one other device-headphones.

Try this NFC fix if you feel up to the job. But it's not neccesserily a hardware problem, because NFC is not compatible with all possible devices...

Yes this update will fix your problem. When you are in some apps and close the cover , caused the phone to restart.
Update to the new version for no more restarts!

My best guess;

1, the combined data and phone storage partitions. Partitions for phone and storage data now combined into one partition.
2, the demand in the browser address is www.google.com, unrealized. The default home page for the browser is now set to google.com, fixed.
3, NFC file transfer dysfunction, sometimes and sometimes can not be transmitted. In some cases NFC transfer didn't function while transmitting data. NFC is now more stable than before, fixed.
4, continuous shooting around 20 photos flash does not shine. When using continuous shooting mode (camera setting) the flash didn't kick in, fixed.
5, wifi directly connected device name defaults to Android_dobb. V3-E should. The new default device name is now called Android_dobb
6, mobile phone leather case on hold, turn on automatic screen rotation function,
in the state closed down the screen and then open the leather holster will automatically restart. In the case when using a mobile phone leather case and the auto rotate function is enabled the device will reboot when waking when using the leather holster.

For me, it's good because 1) and 3). The rest is not so clear to me. But certainly there are other small bugs fixed...

Thanks a million for this hint. Everything worked at my shiny new V3, except for the NFC. Simply using a pushpin and pulled the connectors a few mm out.
Now it recognises my NFC cards. Hooray!

I saw a lot of people asking for someone with good battery results. Here are two screenshots of my battery charts.
It will look Greek to you because are in Greek!
At that moment there were 4% remaining after 21hours and 41 minutes and the screen was on 2hours and 30 minutes. Also wifi was always on, 3g always on, 2 sim cards, 3 e-mail accounts synchronizing every half hour through aqua email app, geolacator on for the weather widget and viber and Facebook are also activated. And I do not know how many of my apps wasting battery power.
The seven hours of the 21:40 was night hours cause I was sleeping but I think everyone does, right?

My experience is that for an average day is more than enough. I wish the battery will last for a 20% more for providing enough power for a heavy day.

Added 3.5GB data partition (same link as previous) http://ge.tt/6Ibk6wC1 . This will give you about 3.5GB internal system storage and 10.5GB phone storage. Should be about perfect for anyone who installs a lot of apps, but doesn't play Gameloft games. The 6GB version remains as well.
