Pretty sure this happens when the EFS gets corrupted or deleted. It happened randomly for me, I was just browsing the web and it randomly rebooted, then no signal and would reboot after 20-30sec (Stock rooted, furnace kernel) I was able to go back to stock without issues and it still had the same symptoms, luckily it said unrooted in download mode so they replaced it without a fuss.

Lesson learned, I'll be sure to back up my EFS immediately after rooting (still unrooted on my replacement).

Yep. Make sure you keep a back up of that on your computer as well. Give autoprime some love for his thread.
