Simple and easy open the file build.prop inside /system then add a new line of code and put this.

#Nexus Navigation
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

Reboot and enjoy..

How does it look at the samsung contacts and message screen? Is there still an additional row on top.

This thngy needs alot of fix for sammy device some are not in place or covering somethin

Yeah i tried this before on tw rom on different samsung device and end up hating it especially contacts, messages and the camera.
