Hi,
I was playing around with my chinese "monster" phone, and would like to have TWRP/NANDROID/Clockwork Recovery on it.
Following is what I already know:

During umkbootimage I found that initramfs.cpio.gz has 512 bytes before the the start of the real gzip (magic number)
00000000 88 16 88 58 5d 36 12 00 52 45 43 4f 56 45 52 59 |...X]6..RECOVERY|

00000020 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff |................|
00000030 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff |................|

I have no idea why this is, or what the first 8 bytes are (I'm guessing checksum of maybe even the "Chinese (UTF-16? for RECOVERY).

!!! --> I had to get the recovery with "dd" since it is part of the "rom" (mmcblk0).

Anyone any ideas? Even adapting this image is ok for me, I just want to be able to backup/restore...

Thank you for your effort,
Wilfried
