Ok,
So I'm want to start playing around with Android and building my first phone app!

I am wondering if my idea is possible to build, I have a GPS watch (cheap one from Aldi) and I want to be able to transfer the data off the watch and onto my phone while I'm out and then sync with a cloud storage service as I do not have a laptop or tablet or would want to bring them with me while mountain biking.

I know I'd need to custom build a cable to connect to the watch and phone but aside from that, is it capable to do this? When the watch plugs into the computer it needs a specific piece of software to retrieve the data (i.e the watch isn't like a USB mass storage device) if that is relevant.

Obviously I won't be releasing this software public in case it breaks some copyright. This is purely for me to learn the Android environment and actually be useful.

Thank you in advance for your help.
