Default Bootloader unlock issue

So I'm trying to unlock the bootloader on my Moto G so I could root it, but when I open the command prompt (In the folder of course) and type "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" it stays on the waiting for device screen. My phone is connected and I have it on fastboot mode, but nothing works.

Turn the phone off. Hold power and voltage down. Let go after a few seconds. Now run the command.

Do you have the drivers installed? Also, try using other USB port. Sometimes it works for me changing them.
