It's based on the RK3066 SoC and whenever the GPU gets taxed the battery is drained in minutes and the WiFi shuts off (and stays disabled until a reboot). Sometimes it even crashes shortly afterwards.
I RMA'd it but no luck. I unpacked the boot.img and modified the init.rc DVFS GPU clocks. Seemed to work at first but the WiFi still turns itself off.
It seems that the GPU or battery is the culprit (I assume).
I need a custom kernel with reduced CPU/GPU clocks and voltage. CPU @ 1400MHz and GPU @ 266 or 200 MHz with reduced voltage (GPU) would be great.
I looked at rkpatchomatic (freaktab.com/showthread.php?7789-rkpatchomatic-tool-overclock-binary-rk3066-kernels) but it seems to be geared towards overclocking and trial and error.
Omegamoon (omegamoon.com/blog/) seems to offer the best resources to compile a kernel but I really really really don't want to compile the kernel myself.
Can someone compile a proper kernel for me?
