Default My friend gets 4g but I don't.

So I have a LG G2 and My friend has the galaxy note 3 from AT&T. I have AT&T too.

He gets 4g out here in the mojave desert but I just get HSDPA...
Anyone know why?

Do you ever, or have you ever had 4G anywhere, or you just don't get 4G in that specific location?

It's possible his phone is just showing HSDPA+ as 4G, aka both phones have different icons for the connection. If he's getting LTE and you're not, then it's a problem. See if you have similar signal strengths (bars) and speed with speed test.
