Long story short my phone won't boot, I don't know if it's repairable or not. I tried removing the battery and putting it back in, once the battery is installed into the phone the phone vibrates and then nothing happens. I know the battery is charged and working because it works on my brothers S3. Any advice?

Please try to connect the device to a computer and then try powering on. If Computer recognizes the phone as QHSUSB_DLOAD or something similar, then your phone is hardbricked. You will have to follow the following thread to De-Brick.

I just tried that, the phone showed the charging symbol for less than a second then turned off. I'm guessing there's no hope?

I did, nothing changed. I remade the SD card multiple times as well with both linux and windows and no change.
