i saw you were right !
taking a screenshot of an image currently displayed on the screen and then writing to it works.
the downside is that the resolution gets changed but i can live with that atm.

Do this or use tge edit picture buttom in gallery ( but its not as cool as the screenshot menu)

Actually, it's not too bad. I've been looking for the same thing.

I just take a picture, then open it and then go into the edit mode.

It's not too bad, I just wish the gallery app had good palm rejection like the Sketchbook Pro app which I use for drawing a lot.

might be a bit overkill.
you can really do a lot right after shooting.
typed text of any kind too.
