i'll post an easy how to so you can try:

WHAT YOU NEED:

moto g with bootloader unlocked guide here

US umts retail firmware 4.4.2
once downloaded extract only NON-HLOS.bin file to a folder (e.g. c:\MOTO)

MFASTBOOT
copy in same folder where you extracted NON-HLOS.bin

now we can start device in bootloader mode.

once we're in bootloader from command line we go to folder(e.g. c:\MOTO) and we'll type

mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot.exe erase modemst1
mfastboot.exe erase modemst2
mfastboot.exe erase cache
mfastboot.exe reboot

In my case i resolved issues with crackling audio.... now it's almost undetectable.

When i will do this: unlock bootloader, flash radio. Will i have upgrade to KitKat via OTA?

So, flash from GB Retail 4.3 to KitKat US 4.4.2, have same crackling. Now just try to flash DE modem to US firmware. Testing...

Anyway if someone know 100% method how to fix it - plz write. This problem is actual.

Just wanted to confirm it - I have also updated to KitKat and the issue is still there (while speaking on 2G).

Moreover one of the Moto G's has a fault, that when you call it, you can hear yourself (echo). The problem is much worse when there is silicon case on it and almost non existent while there is completely no back cover.

It seems that the microphone on it is much more sensitive than on the other 3 - even if I touch the phone slightly I can hear it clearly in the call. When I do the same with the other three nothing is heard.

If anyone has an idea what this could be caused by (probably faulty microphone/audio tunnel) I am open for suggestions .

Bump. Problem is actual. Running on 4.4.2 GB Stock with root. Crakling, crakling everywhere. Don't see the difference when flashing different modems from other stocks (DE, FR, US). Any suggestion?
