Default [Q] flashing boot.img for cm10

Hey folks, noob question inc,

most of the ROMs in DEV section have the installation instructions 1.) wipe 2.) flash rom 3.) poweroff/on & "fastboot flash boot boot.img".

I dont seem to understand why 3. is neccesarry, can some1 explain it pls ? Differently put, by accident i forget step 3. and ROM seems to work like charm.

cheers

You can use any N.O.P.E. or Prometheus kernel for all cm ROMs

Yeah. In phones like sgs2 you can flash boot.IMG but I don't think you can do that in this phone. Now you don't have to change kernel as long as you stay with cm10.
Hit thanks
