Question [Q] How to create a backup of a currently not rooted device?

Hi there,

I am currently considering to try out cyanogen mod, but before doing this - of course - I would like to make a complete backup.
So I searched the web regarding this and found a "nandroid backup" is probably what I am looking for. But such a backup requires rooting my device which in turn results in resetting it / deleting all data - do you recognize the dilemma?

So how would I do a complete backup of a currently not rooted device? Could someone please point me in the right direction?

best regards,
askin

i guess it can't be done.. if you unlock the bootloader so you can install a custom recovery the phone will wipe itself..
