I've spent days searching online but I can not find a way to unlock bootloader for xperia play r800at free, is there something im missing? The main reason why I want it unlocked so bad is because im tired of gingerbread

"if it says not allowed or no then you will need to pay to have the boot loader unlocked.", is there anyway around this part? And why would I have to pay for it?

In the service menu, does it say
Rooting status
Bootloader unlock allowed: no

Because if this is the case, you fall into the same category as I. So you will have to scour the xda for stock based ROMs that you can flash.
