is this even possible without being rooted?

i'd like to install some apks i've sideloaded but i can't get past the "unknown sources" security feature

i'd like to keep the nook rom as i actually like it's functionality

i've tried doing adb install but i can't even get the device to show up (enabled adb in dev options too)

on my device manager, the drivers for BNTV400 are missing

anyway, is this possible? any links (tried searching but information is ALL OVER the place)?

Go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a bootable CWM SD per item 1a. Then flash my Enable Unknown Sources zip. That will make so that apks can be installed. It does not need to be rooted.
