After a recent screen replacement, everything seems to be working fine except, phone does not detect sim card.

I flashed a new rom (google nexus experience R1)

I just want to know first of all how to differentiate whether its the hardware SIM tray that is broken during screen replacement process or if its a software issue?

FYI the SD card slot works just fine

Your best bet is to download the official stock firmware from http://SamMobile.com
and Odin flash it. Make 100% sure that the firmware you download is the right one
for your specific phone's model.

Once you flash it, and still have no network and it does not recognize sim card
then it's a hardware issue and there must have been some other things gotten
broke when the screen was replaced.

Good luck!
