Just jumped from note 2 with knox warranty void without any issue at all. The rep didnt even look at my old phone, I even asked about knox and rooting. He replied "what is knox?"

Any more recent trade ins of knox tripped phones on the jump program? They still oblivious and/or don't care about knox being tripped?

Knox is ridiculous, should have been better thought out by Samsung....Should have been an option for a business line of phones, your average Joe doesn't run around living the life of Jack Ryan .....Poorly thought out IMO....

+1

I rooted mine days after getting it, but have been hesitant flashing recoveries/ROMs on it because of this JUMP concern. I think I'll have at it now. Thanks everyone for providing input to a cloudy subject!

I guess my question would be the following... if TMO doesn't care about people changing their bootloaders or flashing custom recoveries/ROMs, then why does Samsung provide Knox in the first place? Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

It's meant for people to use that need high security on their phone. Not the average consumer. But I originally bumped this thread to get more recent experiences from people using the jump program, to see if anything has changed in T-Mobiles line of thinking has changed since this thread was started.

I emailed t-force customer service with this question and there response was that a Knox tripped phone is not eligible for a jump upgrade because 1) it doesn't meet the definition of eligible device because it no longer runs software as designed by the manufacturer (the Knox layer no longer functions) and 2) it was intentionally damaged (Knox is a blown efuse)
