Default [Q] MS windows tablets need digitizer calibration?

I heard that windows tablets (I dont know if all, but at least Asus me400c), when you replace touchscreen, you need to calibrate the new touchscreen. I was told it is made through a program that is only available to Asus official service centre. I want to ask if this is true if anybody here has changed digitizer for any windows tablet.

Also in the website of company who sells tablet digitizers, they have the same comment (after replacement, needs calibration) in an android tablet me302kl.

Maybe it has something to do with Asus, digitizer versions? Something similar to the hassle to install and make work digitizer for Asus tf300?
