So, I got one of the cheap OBD-II to bluetooth converters and the Torque app on my phone. It is fun - all kinds of real time engine parameters of my dinky Kia engine while I'm driving including RPM, throttle position, and engine load. I was thinking how fun it would be to synthesize the sound of something like my old GT Mustang engine based on the dinky engine's RPM, throttle position, and engine load and play the sound over the bluetooth to the car's sound system. Then I thought - Hey! we could use the phone's accelerometer as the basis for synthesizing the sound of squealing tires! This would be so fun!
I would be able to write an app that read the OBD-II data and the accelerometer, but I am lost about how to synthesize the sounds. Anybody have any idea where to start on that aspect? (George Jetson's car, fighter jets, or cartoon noises hooked in would be fun too).
