[Q] Phone is soft bricked - but I can't get it to work
My Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 got soft-bricked after I've accidentally tried to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2.2. The reason was, my wifi didn't work after updating to 4.3 and I couldn't get it to work.
However, now I only get the following error: "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
After Ive been googling for a solution 2 hours now and didn't find any answers, I decided to post my problem here.
I am able to get into download mode, but not into recovery. Some people in forums said you have to re-flash your firmware then factory reset it; but I've tried flashing the 4.2.2 and 4.3 DBT firmware for my S4 several times, but Odin says "Fail!"
everytime. Some others said just connect it to Kies and do a emergency recovery. But Kies doesn't recognize my phone. It's "connecting..."
for like 10-15 minutes and then gives me a connection error (but this isn't caused by the upgrade issue; I've tried other cables, other USB ports, reinstalling Kies and even the phone so often).
Now I don't know what to do. I can't reset with Kies because it doesn't recognize my phone and Odin gives me "Fail!"
Please help, I'm so desperate right now.
I will try emergency restoring on the weekend with another computer, but what can I do if that won't work either?
