I dropped my Nexus 7 2012 and cracked the screen. So I replaced it with one I bought from ebay. I followed a guide on youtube and all seemed to go well. However when I turn it on the display is totally wrong and only shows strange colours and is totally unresponsive. Whwn I plug in the power cable I can hear the beep to let me know its charging and when I connect to PC I can still browse the storage on my laptop.

Is the new screen I ordered faulty or have I not done something correctly?

I have a photo of what the display is like but as a new user I can't upload it

This happened to me when I replaced my son's screen. I opened it up again and it turned out that I had not fitted the ribbon connector from the screen to the mother board properly. After properly fitting it the screen worked.
