You can update to the official CM Nightlies

I just changed my F240L build.prop to say E980 and boom the CM Updater works and i just downloaded the latest nightly zip and installed.

It went as smooth as a babies buttock didnt have to even wipe cache it just worked.

Hi there , our f240k/l/s its similar to the e980? Version of the lgop?
I am on v5 stock but i want to give it a try to the cm11 for my f240k

Yes cm11 works as long as you get FreeGee to install a lokified CWM

Only issue is the new FreeGee has CWM6.0.4.6 which doesn't recogise external sdcard

But if yo flash CWM6.0.4.5 for F24X from MoKee it works perfectly

Then you just install CM11 for your F240k from here

Then flash GAPPS it worked for me.

I realised that flashing the latest nightly from CM themselves for E980 breaks audio on my F240L so i assume it will also do the same for yours so avoid it for now.

Though everything works, except for audio through headset speaker or earpice and the mics also dont work

If someone knows howto retain the audio framework for CM11 during the flashing process we can be able to use the latest nightlys.

Another thing i noticed is that in the chinese CM11 the baseband is UNKNOWN while the CM Nightly its M9615A-CMZ(cant remember the rest)etc.

Try playing with WiFi advanced settings. For starters, "Wifi turn on during sleep" > "Never". See if that helps with Android OS battery use.
How did you fix audio on F240K with CM11 kernel?

I had wifi set on "only when plugged in" will try on never but I don't think its because of this..... i tried clear play services data as suggested in another thread but not much of use

i flashed the RC04 version of CM11 from the baidu link in this website that comes with thunder kernel so I think it has the audio fix in it

any other suggestions will be appreciated

Try this AOSP ROM, I have been using it on my F240K, super smooth and great battery life
