This one works on Moto G and it records both ways (but I'm not sure if there is a free version)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en

So, CallRecorder v1.5.3 alpha4 really works :victory:
mp3, and also amr works (tested)

Stock Android 4.4.2 with root and CAF and Moto X settings

I really want to use line call recording...

I wonder why it worked on 4.3, but not on 4.4?

Uggggggggh it's tempting to go back to 4.3 just for the recording, but then i'd miss all of the great kitkat features.

UGGH i wish it worked on 4.4. I've even bought the app.

The only apk that works (in theory) is callrecorder, but you have to be rooted and on a CM rom. Settings are Moto X and CAF. Please test it if you can and share results.

    i have Moto G 5.0.2 Unrooted & tried Boldbeast.
But this app also not working on my cell
Please use these settings to record calls:

    - Record Mode: 1, 5 or 7
    - Record Format: WAV
    - Tune Special: Yes

Moto G / Moto G 2nd have many variants, MP4/3GP/AMR format may not work for some variants. Please use WAV format to record calls, it works well.

    For other users:
Android 5.0 works better than Android 4.4, so if possible please upgrade to Android 5.0.

Records but automatic recording is only for 30 secs..
Boldbeast Recorder is free, no advertisement. For most users the free version is good enough, no need to pay. The free version don't have the "auto record calls" feature, you should click the in-call button to manually start recording.

If you have many calls everyday you may consider upgrade to the pro version that has the "auto record calls" feature. Before upgrading you can test the "auto record calls" feature, during test the app can record only 30 seconds every time. After paying the limit will disappear.

The free version has only one difference from the pro version - just a click. You need a click to start recording in the free version, you don't need it in the pro version.
