Looks promising!
I'm guessing will be a very good OS once it reaches some maturity / stability.

Thanks for the devs for this!

There is a 21a and a 22. Are you sure you have the latest that was release a day or 2 ago

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=365

This fixes the issue where it is stuck at black screen. With that you can install the latest image from

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-tou...ouch-armhf.zip

and you just need the device specific file

Its definitely not a daily driver. I'd say its like an old mustang, that overheats with a smashed windshield, ya its cool, but no, (unfortunately) I couldn't drive it to work every day. Definitely gonna keep it in my garage tho (multirom).

Quick rundown, for anyone wondering (info on this seems to be scarce).

(1) I haven't got Bluetooth to work.
(2) WiFi works for me, but only if I sign in thru the status bar. Trying to log in thru the setting makes my keyboard disappear (fc I guess, its not telling lol).
(3) its way smoother than I expected it to be.
(4) can't get the terminal to work with basic bash commands, (seems I can't press enter, maybe its just me).
(5) all the basics seem to work great (calendar, gallery, clock app, weather app, browser, file manager, etc), and I really like the UI of all the apps I've tried.
(6) it freezes sometimes, but not frequently.
(7) I don't think there's any sound (but I could be wrong about this).
(8) the camera (surprisingly), works.
(9) there's some graphical glitches, but nothing major.
(10) anyone reading this, if you have multirom manager... Try it.

I see a lot of potential here, it's a nice change from android. I especially like the status bar, genius. If the Ubuntu devs could work out the kinks, I may (that's a big maybe), just prefer it over android... maybe, possibly, probably not, but it's possible...

Pics, for anyone wanting to see it. If you want to see more, you gota flash it

EDIT:03-16-2014

More stable version available for install with miltirom manager, as stated below.

Honestly i completely lost interest in Ubuntu Touch after reading this:

Quote:
(Ubuntu Touch) It's not made for people to install on their existing devices, it's made to be preinstalled by OEMs onto brand-new, purpose-built phones and tablets.

The only reason you can run Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 is because the Ubuntu developers needed some devices for development and testing of the operating system
Device: Nexus 7 16GB 2013 /flo/
ROM: SlimKat

Kernel: ElementalX
Recovery: TWRP

Previously:

Recovery: 4EXT Touch Recovery

All of these issues have been fixed now.

EDIT: The issue with the keyboard was that the taps would travel through the keyboard, so anything behind the keyboard would get pressed as well, but this issue has since been fixed.

As stated its definitely better, most problems have been fixed, I use it frequently now.

Its also now officially supported by multirom, so you can download and install the images, directly from the multirom manager app. Updating/installing is a breeze now.

The only problem I have now is the occasional freeze, and there's just a hair more lag than the og test builds.

I tried it. It's frustrating to use still. Not a DD.

No navbar is my biggest complaint. Swype up to see the back button, then tap back. And my N7 has touchscreen issues not related to ubuntu that seem to be a minor annoyance in android, but a huge problem in ubuntu.
