Database [Jan 5][BOOTANIMATIONS][APP] Galaxy S4 BIOS Boot Animation + Boot Box

Boot Box is a boot animation database, manager, creator, and more. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is supported by Boot Box, this support thread will contain S4 device specific animations that are added into Boot Box, animations that are optimized for the S4's resolution, and device support information.

NOTE, PLEASE READ: Boot Box does NOT support Samsung devices that are running a TouchWiz ROM with a boot animation in the .QMG format. You may solve this issue by flashing a custom ROM that supports ZIP based animations, or by installing a mod at your own discretion: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1897969

Some features of the Boot Box App:

  • Dynamic Database. Animations are fetched and updated dynamically from a database on the Boot Box server.
  • Categories: show/hide certain animation categories
  • Upload your boot animations directly from the Boot Box app. The built-in Boot Box Uploader creates the required resources for you, including the GIF Preview.
  • Scrambler: allows you to play a different boot animation at every boot.
  • Boot Box Factory: create your own boot animations straight from Boot Box! Creating a static animation will allow you to show your favorite picture on boot up. Creating a Slideshow animation will allow you to display multiple pictures on boot up, each for a set amount of time!
  • Animations can be previewed via a YouTube video (if the uploader provides a link), via a GIF preview, or via a ZIP preview (the animation is downloaded and played in a simulated environment).
  • Load up a local animation from your SD Card and preview it, install it, or create a GIF from it (thanks to XDA Developer D4rKn3sSyS).
  • Flexible boot animation and cache locations for different devices.

Mate, I think it is best you mention that "TW ROMs whose bootanimation is still in the .qmg format is not supported" because there are a lot of custom TW ROMs here who are still using the .qmg format

If you want to create your own animation based on a static image or on an image slideshow*, then yes. I might incorporate a feature that allows you to build an animation from a GIF later on, but Boot Box is not there yet.

* Just to clarify, Boot Box's image slideshow feature is not meant for the creation of an entire animation by inputting frame by frame. Limitations are 1-10 seconds per picture, that would be a value (in FPS) ranging from 1fps to 1/10 fps, and that is not fast enough for a complex animation, just for a small family image slideshow or the like (it's all up to you!)

Feel free to submit any requests, I cannot guarantee that they'll be fulfilled but I would love to expand on Boot Box!
