moving from Sprint to t-mo this week, so I dont know how they are

Yeah I wouldn't think it matters either. Tmo wouldn't sell a phone with an unlocked bootloader if they cared if you rooted and installed custom ROMS.
Current Phone

T-Mobile 32GB - Rooted Wicked v5 (TWRP

Current Tablet
Galaxy Note 10.1 32GB 2014 Edition

Retired Phones
Galaxy S4 (VZW MDK) sold to pay for my Note 3
Droid Bionic - Traded for Note 3

And the best part of unlocked bootloader is easily ditching TW so you can enjoy your phone fully. Plenty of great ROM options out there now, no TouchWiz or Knox BS.
AVRCP is FIXED on all CM-based ROMs incl BeanStalk!!!
Note I (N7000) on BeanStalk | Note II (t0lteatt) on BeanStalk | Note 3 (hlte) on BeanStalk | Galaxy S4 (jfltetmo) on BeanStalk | Nexus 7 LTE (deb) on BeanStalk | unofficial BeanStalk with GApps
next up: OnePlus One
