I just noticed this thread now, can't believe there's a new rom! It's been over a year since Arlicc dropped his development. Thank you so much, gives me a new hope - downloading right now.

Have you considered posting a porting guide for 7320? If it really is this easy, I would love to try porting 4.3 or even 4.4 myself once a stable version gets released for 7300 :)

This ROM is based off the i957 / "p5att" variant, which is a much better fit as it uses Qualcomm soc. Unfortunately there is no development for the i957 past 4.1. So it seems like we are stuck for now. I can post a guide for converting i957 to p7320 but there aren't too many ROMs to choose from for that...

The hardware of the p7320 is almost identical to the i957 except for some partition weirdness.

That explains a lot, thank you. And how about various mods (based on CM10) and kernels (this one for example - http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2020115)? I take it we would need separate kernels designed for i957 as well, so the ones available right now in 8.9 Development section won't work, right?

Once again, thanks a lot for your work, really appreciate it.

You are right - anything to do with gpu, voltage, additional cpu governers, would have to be
added in a new kernel.

On the other hand you could apply some generic performance etc tweaks from the main android hacking section here: http://xdaforums.com/android/software-hacking
But then again you could probably apply some of them to stock Touchwiz ROMs as well if you cared :)

Just for the record there seems to be an inconsistent issue with roaming data. When abroad, I sometimes need to restart the tab to get mobile data. Not a big problem.

Actually toggling flight mode or mobile data seems to reproduce the issue. Reboot is the only solution. Would be interesting to know if anyone else have experienced mobile data issues with this rom, roamining in particular. Cant rule out this could be a sim or carrier issue but my SGN2 is not affected

It looks like the need for reload after toggling flight mode or mobile data is present also when not roaming. I normally dont touch those controls when I am in the home network. Sorry about my mistaken observation. Still, there is an issue. But it should be easy for other users to check if this is a general issue and give me a feedback. Thanks

The first flash will take quite a while. Also doesn't help that the boot animation randomly decides to show some times but not others :)

One word of advice with this ROM: if you let the tablet run flat you might have issues booting up again. I recommend in that case plugging it into the charger and then try and boot into recovery so that the battery can get some juice... then you'll be able to boot again.

Excellent thanks for the advice!

Do you know if the ROM allows connections over vnc I've been trying to remote into it for a while now but the tablet keeps refusing the connection. So not quite sure what is going on here

I haven't tried any VNC connections with it. You might find some help by googling based on CM10 and VNC and tablets - I doubt anyone has tried with this tablet specifically...

every restart I have another wifi mac address.
How to Fix It?

It can be fixed by entering a MAC address in the file /data/.mac.info (mine was there but was empty, but I was playing with various MAC-changers before, don't know if they had any effect on my findings)
I had to use 'Root Explorer' and 'Show hidden files' options in ES File Explorer to do that. Found proper MAC of my P7320 in my router DHCP history, but I think any MAC in valid format should do.

    [ROM][P7320/P7320T][JB 4.1.2] Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 [2013-12-22] "FINALLY"

THIS ROM IS FOR GT-P7320 AND GT-P7320T ONLY! JUST LIKE nrvate's CM10 ROM FOR THE i957, THIS ROM COULD EAT YOUR INCOMPATIBLE DEVICE AS IT DOES NOT DO A DEVICE CHECK.

This is a Jellybean 4.1 / CM10 ROM for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE aka the P7320 or the P7320T.

The hardware in this tablet is almost identical to the SAMSUNG i957, except for the data partition being hosted on mmcblk0p28 instead of mmcblk0p26. First I tried converting the other builds, e.g. nrvate's work on the P7320, which worked well. Alas, I have decided a fresh build would be interesting. This build will probably stay at CM10/JB4.1 for now as the p5att variant has disappeared from the msm8660 source for JB 4.2.

You will need a CWM recovery to flash this, e.g. this one here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1569122

    For cm-10-20131222-UNOFFICIAL-p7320.zip: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B48JIYNc4wvsMkN6bjhuQmtZdFE/edit?usp=sharing

    Google Apps: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip

Install the ROM ZIP and GAPPS ZIP at the same time if you like. Also the first boot may appear to be hung but it will take a short while - don't panic due to the lack of boot animation! :)

    Latest changes:
    • Touchscreen sensitivity increased + source updates from P7300/P7310
    • Battery/charging code updates from offical samsung ICS source
    Custom additions:
    • Use the Adreno GPU for 2D rendering - greatly improves performance in the stock browser and launcher, and especially in landscape mode due to our screens being rotated 90 degress in software
    • smartassV2 governor - you can enable this in Settings -> Performance
    • USB charging and notification
    • Enable saving of blocked attachments (e.g. zip files) from the email app (from CM10.1)
    • Touchscreen sensitivity increased
    What is working:
    • Screen
    • Speakers / Audio
    • Wifi
    • 3g/4g
    • Bluetooth
    • Camera (front, back, stills mode only)
    • Tethering
    • USB charging and notification
    What is not working:
    • Automatic brightness
    • Camera for video (video - wrong aspect ratio, changing resolution cases crash in app)
    • Vibration (works but is weak and only sends the start and finish signals)
    • Boot animation doesn't display 90% of the time
    • Charging bug while turned off, you may need to unplug the cable to turn back on
    • Wifi Direct
    • HDMI out + probably anything that uses the dock port except for USB and charging
    • + Lots more that I don't know about yet :)

New version, includes saving of blocked attachments (e.g. zip files) from the email app (from CM10.1). Also the init logo now displays, before the boot animation does. Still pot luck as to whether the boot animation will display.

    2013-12-22 release

This is a relatively minor release but looking to get some feedback from people to see if it improves anything with the touchscreen, battery and charging. Note that the charging while powered off still does the charging loop - not too sure how to fix that one.

Sorry to hear the HDMI out is still not working. I wouldn't have expected it to fix itself however :) . it's a pretty scary place in the kernel code for this device so I wouldn't be expecting it to work any time soon unfortunately :-\

In other news, my tab only charged to 76% again last night, so it seems the charging issue is still there dang nabbit.

I'll be away for Christmas for the next few nights so you won't see any updates for a short while.

    Storage reporting to android fixed

I must have been bored this weekend because I just made another one, this time with fixed storage:
    cm-10-20131208-UNOFFICIAL-p7320.zip: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B48JIYNc4wvsNE0yZWtEaWt6Z2M/edit?usp=sharing

    • Storage partition fixed up - now using fuse but actually telling android about it via storage.xml :). Also the doubling up of storage devices in Settings->Storage no longer occurs.
