So flashing another phone's efs+modem has some chance of working?

I extracted efs+modem (and did recovery) from frined's, but unfortunately now only one mobile is working at a time :/
any idea how I can fix that?

The fact that changing IMEI is illegal, I have reverted back to my original one and hence no duplication of IMEI for now, but somehow my friend is still not able to get network.... I wonder why

in my case conversion was flawless, and mobile was working fine..... it was the cm11 which messed up the efs
i have narrowed down the problem to be in efs2 partition

at this time, both mobile have different IMEIs but only one of them is able to get service

I just flashed an EFS found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2522160 although I have working network, but the signals keep dropping now and then...

I guess something is better than nothing is applicable here
