It's more simple: Flash the baseband via odin (MODEM=PHONE=baseband).

Whatever you do with twrp/cwm is not relevant for this. That's the meaning of the word "independent".

So that means I can flash it into recovery mode directly just like Odin+Aiesve.ops procedure we do for CM9 in CWM ?

So I have to just put the mentioned tar file.... DDKP9 Modem TAR... in the thread u sent about ROM instead of recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5........ in download mode ?

and then flash the download Baseband version into after recovery mode from sdcard ?

I read one thread about getting back to stock ROM but one package is for .tar files or i can select show all files and select my stock ROM .zip file and flash it with Odin and .ops ?

Need a detailed info .

I am really worried. Please help. Thank you.

Download and install Devon-Team TWRP or CWM recovery from this forum, here the link: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2463347

Be sure also that your device us not affected by emmc bug, in this case use the special recovery for emmc bricked devices (available for download in the same tread).
I've just installed CM9 yesterday using TWRP and all work fine.

Now I am trying to use TWRP but the links mentioned in the thread you mentioned are not letting me download the file.

for me download links works fine.

For you the problem is that the links are not working or is the browser unable to download zip files?

Are you using stock browser?

if yes install and use another browser, I suggest Opera.

OK... there's something wrong.

reboot in recovery, on wipe menu select to wipe:

- system
- data
- davilk cache
- cache
- android secure

apply wipe (it will take some few seconds)

then,

- flash CM9 ROM
- flash Gapps (be sure to flash gapps for CM9).

at the end of flashing process reboot and cross fingers ;)

Has this ROM really longer battery life than latest CM10.1 with k-kernel?
If yes about how much are we talking?

No, battery drain in CM9 is a little bit larger than CM10.1 (both with K^Kernels), but CM9 is much, much faster than CM10.1 (with CM9 I don't need to overclock).
But my phone is warming up more with CM9 Solved, changed CPU governor to Interactive

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to remember you people that this rom is still vulnerable of the Master Key vulnerability. In order to protect yourself you'll need to install ReKey, it will patch the rom and you'll be safe again!

Here it the link to ReKey, please keep in mind that this app needs to be installed. Do not uninstall it!

Please verify the md5sum to be sure you got the right one.
Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)

    1. Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
    2. Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
    3. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
    4. Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.

    Install

    1. Use CWM5 or CWM6.
      For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
    2. Wipe data and cache.
    3. Flash update*.zip.
    4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
    5. Reboot phone.
    6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
    7. Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
      • If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
      • It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
    Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
