I installed the TWRP recovery tool on my phone through odin, pretty much following the standard instructions everywhere. (Download mode->odin->PDA->tar file->start) however, now my phone is not rebooting at all; it is stuck on the screen displaying 'Samsung Galaxy S Advance' for over 30 minutes. I'd be extremely grateful for any assistance on how to fix this issue.

1.Odin flashnable TWRP was only for gingerbread.
If you want costom recovery go to CoCore thread.
2.Go to download mod and flash stock jellybean.
After that your phone will boot.
3.Dont worry. Uf you can enter download mod your phone is not bricked.

I just saw your post on @diego-ch's thread saying that this is for gingerbread and not jellybean! Is that the problem? Is there any, any way to fix it now?

Just flash stock JB firmware with Odin again. And it will be fine.
