Default HTC GE root

I am trying to decide between the HTC GE and Nexus 5 ...and I read somewhere that the HTC has a locked boot loader that cannot be unlocked. Is this true?

Also can yo guys give me your 2 cents on it...what device would u trade for a G2?

all but the Verizon HTC one are easily unlocked at HTCDEV.com
and the Verizon one has an s-off workaround to get unlocked also.

do you have a G2 or are you asking how to trade for one ?

I have a G2 and I have offers for a htc one google play edition or nexus 5. I was told that the htc doesn't have an unlocked boot loader.

one look in the development section should answer your questions the bootloader has been unlocked by HTC since the beginning

If you have an HTC One GPE 4.4 or version after with locked bootloader. You cannot unlock it anymore (it may be an bug from HTC or sth)
