the 12.15.15 link in this thread will work?

Edit:

I actually used the 12.15.15 in this post, rooted with RockMyMoto, used SlapMyMoto, (I followed the instructions) and tried to use the 4.4 update (renamed), and I still get the error. I was going to try to redo it, but I cant seem to get the phone to be acknowledged with RSDLite to FXZ back.
Disconnect your device from USB..Reboot your computer.!!

Reboot your device..try again..

Now "RSDLite" the 12.15.15 FXZ ..and Root with RockMyMoto..

If I recall correctly, you will retain root, but you may need to complete the last commands again. You will definitely need to reinstall supersu however.

Maxx'd out Kit Kat

I believe so, but it may be as simple as just reinstalling supersu and letting it do it's thing. At any rate, you will retain root

So if you purchased/received a new maxx from VZW that had kitkat installed out of the box, there is no way to root, correct?

I ask because my gf just picked up a maxx the other day, and it came with KitKat. I still am on 4.2.2

If I have root and have done MotoWpNoMo do I still have to do SlapMyMoto or can I skip that step and move onto step 3?

I got my phone with 4.2.2 and haven't accepted any updates. I rooted with PwnMyMoto
