No, not really. kexec is a well known and nice method but requires kernel source code patching. My bootmanager method doesn't require any kernel modification/compilation, however it requires a boot partition big enough to contain 3 kernels. I don't know how big Z1 partition is, but s800 kernels are much bigger than 8660, making difficult a possible port.
Our kernel partition is too small for this method. But multirom is working like it should I think. Just need to get tassadar's modified twrp up to date and fix some compiling errors.
