Default [Q] difference in terms

can anyone explain me clearly the difference between master reset,hard reset and soft reset...

I assume that if you reset the phone from the menu, like settings backup and reset, or by the buttons the rom / operating system will remain at the same version, eg you will have some of the ringtonesbthat you had when you buyed the phone. When i reseted the phone with the sony softwarr by connecting it with the usb cable to the pc, the rom operatin sys i guess it was rewritten as i got another version of rom and some other ringtones appeard. However this was on a sony Ericsson elm phone

I think your hard reset is also known as a factory reset.
