Default A couple suggestions

Great app, makes my phone really usable.

I currently have all my keys set to turn on the device (its all or nothing), What would be better is to define which keys can do this.

If there is a way to trap the zoom slider and re-assign it to different applications - that would be really great.

In the setup, a single click on a button - would be nice if it did the edit, and a tap and hold would bring up the menu.

Are the first 2 possible?

Hey glad to hear you got it working!
I remembered there were several slightly less than intuitive
aspects of installing (did not expect to find the Ap in settings/system)

It's also sometimes slightly less than intuitive to program the remapping.
I just found a preconfigged settings file from Frank Lopez
(earlier in this thread)

It's really a convenience and saves a lot of time if you
reflash your ROM (After I found how to load the xml file <BG>)
Frank did a very good "starter" set of remappings
which of course you can personalize yourself

Its really not difficult at all but the author should include
a simple 1 or 2 page "for dummies doc" sticky.
I wound up saving each page and stripping out the more useful stuff.

BTW its working fine here on my Pure with the new Tess Leo I ROM
This is a needed AP (used to be included in Win CE)
Leo is a nicely cooked ROM. I almost forgot what a joy, pre-microsoft
software can be. Together they are a really good pair.

I'm convinced most software has become like softdrink/coffee cups

is like

"No sir, We don't release beta... to the public we only have alpha releases"

No it only maps hard keys not soft keys. To remap softkey go into the registry: HKLM\software\HTC\Manila

then change HomeRSKPath and HomeRSKtext
Current SGII. Retired HTC Desire, TD2, LGKS20.

Just a small follow up and Status report
Your AP is working well on my AT&T Pure/Topaz with a
Tess Leo 1 Rom.

I did run into a slight problem with the
default key actions on click,

All of my keys required the "Extended Emulation"
for the click to function.

In the tow cases where I moved
the default behavior (vol up/dn to long click vol up/dn)
I did not need to use the extended emulation.

Adding the "extended emulation to the Power button
resolved the problem someone else reported earlier
(problem bringing the device out of standby, it would loop)

Hope this helps Its a really fine application, congrats
I pretty much found out all I needed from the posts
but did you say there was a sticky somewhere??
I'm sorry I haven't found the notes on using the
"extended emulation" but I did see you mention it
and then I just found it, clicked it and it worked as described
(much larger config file now though)

I would recommend this to anyone using a Topaz
Thanks for all the work, very nice indeed

Default Unsuccessful installation

Hi there,

This program is exactly what I am looking for my HTC Diamond 2 with original WM6.5, however I failed to make it work...

I installed Microsoft .NET CF 3.5 and the two files from the TopazKbdControl_GSM_1.4.zip which I downloaded from your first page, but I cannot see any "Keyboard Config" under Settings/System...

I've (un/re-)installed them several times but not luck. Initially I had SPB Pocket Plus installed for minimal key mapping, which I uninstalled. Now, I only have SPB Phone Suite which should not interfere with your program. A final piece of info, I cannot access Settings from Start (it's not there, for a strange reason...), so I access it through SPB Phone Suite, but that should not be a problem, I would imagine...

Any help, please...

It still doesn't address the issue for me.

Click: Power Management: Screen Power Toggle
Double Click: Power Management: Suspend Device
Long Press: Default Key Action: Emulate this key: Extended Emulation is checked

Screen is on, single clicking turns it off
Screen is off, single clicking turns it on and then immediately backoff as this app is firing *after* the system is turning the screen back
Screen is off, long pressing the key and the screen comes back on just fine.

How exactly did you have yours setup to get around the behavior I'm describing?

Hi,

I am trying to map the four buttons under the screen.

Call - default key not working, mapping for "run program" is fine. <- resolved with "extended emulation", thx Kenn.
Win - work prefect
Back - work prefect
End - default key not working, mapping for "run program" is fine. <- resolved with "extended emulation", thx Kenn.

I am using official WM6.5 HK traditional Chinese.

By the way, may I know if the End key with "Long press" could still change the phone to silent mode.

Thx for the hard working!
