Need help to write a script to boot my kindle
2 years ago I was one of the unfortunate ones who got the emmc corruption,
over the past few days Hashcode has helped me to get it back to life. (massive thanks to Hash).
but with hundreds of failed attemps over the two years I mashed up the copper short pad so bad that its gone, woops. as a result I am now stuck in usbboot mode for ever. Hence I need Help.
I have no idea about writing scripts and have googled a bit and it seems way above my head, so I need Someones help who could teach me or write one for me. my kindle fire will only boot with the aid of pokey's firekit so it would be real handy to have a script to run which does the following.
open a terminal (default ubuntu 13.10)
/home/lovejoy777/bootkindle (I have pokeys firekit script in there)
sudo ./fk (this starts up the firekit)
when loaded run:
./usbboot /root/firekit/aboot.bin /root/firekit/u-boot.bin (this starts the bootprocess)
then close the terminal (after its finished)
I plan to make a desktop shortcut to the script so i can plugin my kindle and hit the icon to boot. I don't know how hard this would be to do so go easy on me if its not possible or I'm barking up the wrong tree.
any tips, links, or help would be greatly appreciated.
