Another botched revert-to-stock attempt
So, like so many others, I have attempted to go back to stock on my HTC One, and it's sorta bricked. Soft-bricked, I think it's called. I can get to fastboot and recovery, but it looks like all of my mount points were hosed during the last botched attempt. So now... I'm stuck. I was never able to achieve S-OFF on this phone, so now without a working ROM, I am unable to use the rumrunner method to S-OFF. Since I'm HBOOT 1.56, I believe that's the only method available, right? Can't do it through adb or fastboot? At this point, I'd be happy to get ANY ROM up and running! But with the shape that my mount points are in, I believe only an RUU will work, is that correct? Here's all the information I have on my device:
On bootloader screen:

I'm still not sure which RUU to use, as it's all very confusing with the different variants of the phone. This one I bought directly from HTC when they had a sale, so it's an unlocked international version, as far as I know. But most of the WWE RUU's say 'developer edition' at the end. This is not a developer edition phone, obviously. As far as I can tell, that's no bid deal, right?
Another thing I've heard conflicting information on is whether you need S-OFF to run an RUU. Some folks say you can as long as it's a newer version of the firmware than what's currently on your phone. Any way to fake that with the RUU.zip file? I would think there's gotta be a way!
Okay, I leave this in your capable hands while I continue to search and try things. Luckily, this is my personal phone and not my work phone. Heh I'm especially miffed because I've rooted so many devices in the past (phones and tablets) without any issues. Why does the HTC One have to be such a bitch?
Thanks for your expertise!! BTW - I will gladly pay for assistance, if that will help get this fixed quicker.
