Hoo boy, I did a number.

Received a new RMA'd T-Mobile One back from HTC today. Bone stock, H-Boot 1.56, 4.2.2.

Unlocked bootloader from HTC Dev
Rooted, installed TWRP 2.7 recovery, SU, blabla
Firewater'd to S-Off (painless on 1.56, by the way)
Changed SID and MID to Developer Edition (BS_US001 and PN0712000)

Tried to install the RUU for JB43 (the only Developer RUU I could find since HTCDev doesn't host them any more....)

Re-locked bootloader. No dice on RUU.exe.

Errored out. Decided to downgrade H-Boot to 1.44 (don't ask).

No dice on RUU.exe

I'm at a loss. The RUU doesn't install no matter what I do. Currently downloading RUU JB50 I found in this thread. Maybe that will work with 1.44.

I have jacked this new phone up in the past 3 hrs...hoping I can get this done. I have AT&T and just want a stock HTC firmware that gets OTAs.

Edit: Getting ERROR [130]: MODEL ID ERROR

Guessing the RUU isn't the correct one for the Developer Edition? Help!

Default Htc one m7 O2

Hi,
I have a HTC ONE M7 801n and it was bought from O2, one day i decided to put a custom rom so i followed tutorials, i didnt like the rom therefore i did a full wipe and flashed an OTA which was the same requirements as my HTC. I flashed this new OTA and then later found out that my sim card was not reading, it gave me an error. The sim card was working fine before my now after the flash doesn't work. i tried different radios and still no luck. I have S-OFF and super ID. I dont even have the O2 logo which is usually on the start up. ANY IDEAS?
what should i do to get it working again.
help is much appreciated
thank you

Unhappy Another botched revert-to-stock attempt

So, like so many others, I have attempted to go back to stock on my HTC One, and it's sorta bricked. Soft-bricked, I think it's called. I can get to fastboot and recovery, but it looks like all of my mount points were hosed during the last botched attempt. So now... I'm stuck. I was never able to achieve S-OFF on this phone, so now without a working ROM, I am unable to use the rumrunner method to S-OFF. Since I'm HBOOT 1.56, I believe that's the only method available, right? Can't do it through adb or fastboot? At this point, I'd be happy to get ANY ROM up and running! But with the shape that my mount points are in, I believe only an RUU will work, is that correct? Here's all the information I have on my device:

On bootloader screen:

M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.0000
RADIO-4A.21.3263.04
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.06.1540.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB

From running fatstboot getvar all:

(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.56.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4A.21.3263.04
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 4.06.1540.2
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
(bootloader) serialno: HT3AHWxxxxxx
(bootloader) imei: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m7_ul
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-8064
(bootloader) modelid: PN0712000
(bootloader) cidnum: BS_US001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4135mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: dirty-bee46337
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0

Tried RUU Zip M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_3.22.1540.1-decrypted.zip via fastboot:

fastboot flash zip "RUU Zip M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_3.22.1540.1-decrypted.zip"
target reported max download size of 1514139648 bytes
sending 'zip' (1133440 KB)...
OKAY [ 51.795s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
(bootloader) Read zipped android_info fail
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
finished. total time: 52.081s

I'm still not sure which RUU to use, as it's all very confusing with the different variants of the phone. This one I bought directly from HTC when they had a sale, so it's an unlocked international version, as far as I know. But most of the WWE RUU's say 'developer edition' at the end. This is not a developer edition phone, obviously. As far as I can tell, that's no bid deal, right?

Another thing I've heard conflicting information on is whether you need S-OFF to run an RUU. Some folks say you can as long as it's a newer version of the firmware than what's currently on your phone. Any way to fake that with the RUU.zip file? I would think there's gotta be a way!

Okay, I leave this in your capable hands while I continue to search and try things. Luckily, this is my personal phone and not my work phone. Heh I'm especially miffed because I've rooted so many devices in the past (phones and tablets) without any issues. Why does the HTC One have to be such a bitch?

Thanks for your expertise!! BTW - I will gladly pay for assistance, if that will help get this fixed quicker.

Mike

Alright, disaster averted and CyanogenMod to the rescue! It was still a bit tricky, because I had to manually force it into fastboot mode while the install app was still running. I was then able to get into recovery, at which time I realized that CWM had already been installed. While in recovery, I formatted and mounted the cache and system partitions. Once that was done, the rest of the install kicked in and I was good to go!

I think I'll run with this for a while, and work on getting s-off in the mean time.

Root and unlocked don't matter. You need to flash a stock recovery for a 3.63.708.x version then download and apply the ota again. You will have to unlock the bootloader to flash recovery again.
Phone: HTC One- Rogers unlocked
Rom: 4.4.2 Stock Sense 6
Stock Kernel

Old Phone: HTC Sensation, HD2, Tilt
Rom: ARHD
kernel: stock

Hello, evryone. A friend of mine flashed a wrong ROM and now her cellphone doesn't boot. She has a verizon phone. More info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2688936

She used this zip: "RUU Zip M7_WL_JB_50_VZW_1.10.605.10_decrypted" but after still the phone doesn't boot.

Hboot:
Unlocked
m7_wlv pvt ship s-off rh
cid-VZW__001
hboot 1.54.0000
radio 1.12.42.0906
opendsp v31.120.274.0617
os 1.10.605.10

Maybe is because she changed the cid?
