Does someone know how to root F240 which got the official KK upgrade and install appropriate custom recovery?
The old way which worked on v4.1.2 (using Root.bat batch pushing the required files via adb) seems to be not working (at least for me).
I am quite disappointed with the upgrade - old diseases of F240x models like annoying message about "call to local" (which is alone makes the ROM practically unusable) still persist. I am looking for a way to get back to one of stock based ROMs until someone releases a good custom ROM based on 4.4. stock

OTA Trouble

Hello! I'm NeCoritol, live in Korea.

today, Official Kitkat firmware (v20c) release for 240S, 240L !

F240S : V20C

F240K : V10Z (LG negotiating with KT (Olleh) about V20C)

F240L : V20C

Korean (F240S, F240L) v10z -> Software update

Hello,
I'm in the Philippines and I have an F240S. Kitkat is available OTA, but I can't even download past 7mb of the 727mb. The device just crashes and reboots. It's STRANGE.. Nope. Not rooted.

I did download on my computer the v20c kdz file... 1.6gb, but don't know how to install that on the phone. Man, this sucks.

Root here

not clear how to root. They say (in this Vietnamese forum translated via Google) that if you are on 4.4.2. (this is what I am - stock's 20c for F240L) - downgrade to 4.1.2.

"Step 1:
Those who are in the 4.4.2 (KitKat) run back to the KDZ 4.1.2"

The only tiny thing they do not mention is how to do it. As the device is not rooted, the only way to change a ROM is flashing it via LG flashing tool, however it does not let you flash an official version lower than you currently have (says something like "you already have a last version blah-blah-blah). Is there any hidden trick to make the LG Flash tool to install KDZ for 10z while I am on 20c?

    Finally upgraded to KitKat :victory:
But why no guest mode and only got 2 themes

There is a guest mode but it's hidden. You have to install quickshortcutmaker from Play.
Scroll down to Home and click on Home guest mode.

Then click on Create. A Home icon will be created on your home screen.

Once you click on the Home icon, this is what you get.

You have to use pattern lock.

Anybody used the slide aside hidden feature? It's also hidden like guest mode but it's not working

Both features work for me. As long you are coming from LG official kitkat rom F240K.
