Default [Q] officia kit kat, 2 questions: root and sim unlock

After official kk upgrade, when trying to sim unlock via service mode doesn't work, get to service mode screen and on first screen, the lsst line reads:
IMEI CERTI : NA
and I can't move anywhere except out of the menu.

also, is there a way to unroot without loading another room? Motochopper doesn't work, and no, I dont care about tripping knox counter (although if there's a way to do it without tripping it please let me know.

if this info is elsewhere in the forums point me to it without bashing, I've spent a lot of time searching for the answers and couldn't find them, but if I missed them just tell me so, thanks!

I read a while ago, in the thread on how to do that, it don't work on the newer modems.
You need to downgrade the older version 4.2 to get the unlock to work.

Kriptik, those 2 methods that you mentioned are what I tried to do and failed.
As M9x3mos noted, the new ROMs won't let the "old" methods work, and it's also impossible (as of yet and as far as I've read) to downgrade from kitkat back to any version of JB or prior ones. so it's a catch 22..

I'm pondering if I should just pay off the device to get the unlock code from tmobile and then just roon the damn thing as I did before...
