Arrow Rooting Pledge: $280+ to Root Kenwood DNN990HD

Current pledge amount is $240

Hello all,

I have been a longtime XDA member (new account - lost password for last account. Long story).
Anyhow, I wanted to start a thread to gather support for rooting the Kenwood DNN990HD. I don't have the experience myself to accomplish this, but I am willing to start a pledge thread with my starting pledge of $100 towards someone who can discover a way to root the Kenwood DNN990HD radio. If you can join in raising money for this cause, I am sure we could attract the very skilled minds of developers here at XDA.

What we know:
Kernal version
3.0.8-tcc
Root@prominence #2
Mon apr 22 16:36:28 jst 2013

Build number
Binks_v8-userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76D eng.root.20130422 test-keys

Pictures of various ports that could indicate JTAG or USB method of roots:

-Installing apps from "Unknown Sources" is not available in the settings menu.
-No known way of executing into the boot loader.
-Unit has a process for updating using update.zip method but any attempted changes to the file do not allow the update.zip file to finish all the way (as expected).
-This thread contains information about and discussion around attempted rooting methods / research.

Any help from the brilliant minds at XDA would be awesome! If you are willing to pledge a dollar amount towards a developer who can figure out a root, please post the dollar amount.

----
Update - I have been able to obtain permanent root on the unit. However, in the process of getting Android Market to work I bricked the unit. I sent the unit to Kenwood service. The returned unit no longer presents itself as expected. I have purchased a second unit (on the way) to make sure the method can be duplicated as expected.

Your donations would be awesome to help pay for the investment in the second unit. I will update both threads with what I find.

I'm frustrated with the inability to add any apps. Put me in for $40!
