I have two Galaxy Player 5.0 units and did a CWM backup on each one. I noticed that the one with only 3GB of stuff got stuck a little bit on the .android_secure part of the backup. It finally moved on and finished. My other GP5 had over 9GB of stuff and also hung on the .android_secure part of the backup. I though CWM was broken, but decided to just leave it alone while I worked on my computer.

After about 10 or 15 minutes, CWM finally finished saving the .android_secure files. This makes sense that it would take longer since almost all my backups and ROMs are on the external SD card. As I understand it, the .android_secure files stores all of the info related to files stored on the ex-SD.

So if you have this problem, check to see if you've got a ton of files/photos/music on the your external SD Card. If you do, your CWM backup will get "stuck" on the .android_secure section for a while. This is normal. Just wait it out and your backup should continue as normal.
