Question
Is this a hardware problem with my device? Is there a part I can replace?

I overlooked something going back and forth between Touched by an S4 ROM (4.1.2) and VILLUMINATTI CM11 (4.4.2). That is the gyroscope vs the orientation sensor in the Android Sensor Box app.

When I'm running 4.1.2 the gyroscope responds the opposite as I expect, the axis are switched. But that is the only place I can find anything weird. All of the other apps on my phone operate as expected.
When I'm running 4.4.2 the orientation sensor responds the opposite as I expect, the axis are switched. I have to hold the phone screen facing down to make it work. Google Maps orientation is all goofed up... etc.

I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my device?

I don't think it's your device, I have the same issue when running 4.4.2 ROMs

Add me to the list. I just noticed in Villuminati that my gyro is acting odd as well. It is backwards in some apps and just sketchy in others. I am also bummed. I was hoping I could stay in KitKat.
