If I helped you in any way please consider donating something so I can buy a new phone. The HTC One is dead due to an issue with the USB connector or something else that I'm still not aware. I will use this phone as a test bed from now on to see if I can fix other stuff without breaking too so I do need a new phone. You can donate here: http://bit.ly/1a9vqqg

Thanks and enjoy the video! I hope it helps a lot of people.

A video will be uploaded here: (it's 04:37am GMT -2) and still 205 minutes left to upload. Video will be 720p and it's 1.2gb so yeah, it will take a while. But now I'm off to bed. And sorry for my english. I'm ok writing but I'm so so when speaking. I said I would edit the video but since it's just shy of 19 minutes I figured I would leave it like that.

If you guys have any idea on what to do to help me fix the charging issue I would see if I can try that now that the phone can be easily opened.

I managed to open mine up today after a cracked screen.

I popped off the volume and slid a wooden ice cream stick between the back cover and the battery and then used a guitar pick to gently prize the rest open.

I managed to do it without damaging either the front or the back with relative ease, Once one side is out you can pivot the entire screen and midsection out.

I made sure to put no force on the rim around the back as its pretty thin and delicate, also mind the sim slot, volume and headphone socket as these look likely to break!

It can be done!

Well the pictures on the ETS site here show them without the casing, but if you are taking the phone apart anyway and replacing the speaker, you could just transfer the casing from the old speaker to the new one. Just be sure to apply heat and/or pull the speaker out slowly otherwise the casing will break like it did on one of our Ones.
Can I see a picture of the casing? Also, I had a chat with an ETS inquiry person, he said that it is indeed 189B. He also said that the bottom speaker is a part of the speaker assembly, and can't be replaced separately.
So I will need the following:

1. Black housing (have)
2. http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-...card-tray.html
3. http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-...d-speaker.html
4. http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-...-assembly.html

Right?

Right?
Look at the two pictures on this site and compare them with the ETS pictures.
http://stellatech.com/article.php?lang=en&id=815401

You can see the casing on the side of the Stella pictures as well as see that it comes with the adhesive on the casing as shown by the fact that it has a little blue covering to protect the adhesive. But like I said. If you are careful enough getting your old top speaker out you can just carefully take the casing off of it and put it on the new top speaker.

And yes, the bottom speaker is all one piece. It has the speaker and reverb chamber all together, unlike the top speaker where the reverb chamber extends out into the back behind the daughter board. I used to have crackling from my top speaker but fixed it by pressing that chamber down harder and it sealed the chamber and the crackling went away.

Yes, that's the whole point of this thread. I changed mine and my wife's silver HTC Ones to Red and Blue, but it was a hard, tedious Process in which I almost broke our phones, but I learned and worked it through and now they are Red and Blue and fully functional.

I know you made it look easy, but I feel like this is too painful just to open a phone. Sometimes the phone freezes and it won't turn off or on. What do I do then?

@Rydah805 @J-Pod @UltraNoob I did the back housing! Here are some pics.. It was super easy!! Much easier than separating the front and back of the housing that I bought . Also, HTC finally solved my speaker problems . In retrospect, I think I should've taken better pics or a video of me opening it, what I took pretty much suck .. Anyways:
