I noticed that whenever Im trying to watch a youtube video on fullscreen, landscape mode, the menu bar and the notification bar is present. blocking the video. How do I solve this?

Your not going mad, mine does this to, not all the time but pretty frequently. I've noticed that at the time when the soft keys and the notification bar should slide away all that happens is the softkey icons go leaving a black bar and some icons disappear from the notification bar like the boomsound icon.

Is that what yours does also?
